City archives are famous knowledge stores, but in ö public awareness are often barely anchored. Seven institutions now want to change this with an offensive ä.

Because Nazi is a currently inflationary word, danger of relativization of this term is growing. The crimes and perfidy of original Nazis are of a much more terrible caliber than frustration of citizens who choose from protest-right parties. Archival materials are not only made of paper. In city archives of Würzburg The fragment of a cannonball is kept, which Prussian troops had shot down on July 27th, 1866 on Würzburg. 150 years after battles, privately kept fragment was handed over to city archives (real Collection No. 1). Large space in municipal archives take photographs. The Bamberg City archive alone has more than 1.5 million pictures.

One of m shows a speech by Chancellor Konrad Adenauer before old court on July 20, 1952. For 2018, city archive will publish an interesting calendar with old aerial photographs. Historical events, however, are hand-drawn in older files.

The Regensburg Municipal Archives keep chased Chronicle of Christian Gottlieb Dimpfel (1709-1781), which contains important but often forgotten events of city's history, such as coloured religious refugees, 1732 from Austria to Regensburg (I AE 2, 1-5). One can also marvel at Judaico, which was created in 1361. Both illustration and text contain defamatory allusions.

The "Fazuni" opinion in Nuremberg Municipal archives (b 1/I No. 69, fol. 23v), in which 1542 proposals submitted by builder Antonio Fazuni to city fortifications of Nuremberg are to be read, shows how confused paths of tradition are often. 1936 took it from Mayor Willy Liebel from city archives to give it to Adolf Hitler. 1946 and 1949, Archivale was unsuccessful reclaimed from private property of Hitler seized by US military authorities.

In 1950s it appeared in Switzerland. A French soldier, who took it at end of war, sold it to an art dealer, who again offered it to city archives. After free state of Bavaria had renounced ownership rights as estate administrator of Hitler, precious office was returned to Nuremberg Municipal archives.
