Orange dissolves its Catalan subsidiary OCAT

Orange will proceed on December 31 to dissolution of an orange Catalonia (OCAT), a subsidiary its Catalan subsidiary from purchase of former public operator of Generalitat AL-Pi, and currently has a very small activity.

The dissolution of OCAT is part of process of reorganizing its corporate structure which is being carried out by French group in Spain., which will simplify processes and management of activities that Orange develops, reported in sources of group.

The activity in Catalonia will be maintained in same way that it was developed so far. There will be a subrogation of template of OCAT in Orange Spain from next December 1, transmission of assets of OCAT to Orange España and to OSFI ( company resulting from merger with Jazztel) and 31st of December of 2017 will proceed to liquidation of OS Society.

The measure will have no impact on employment because 78 jobs will be maintained, and working conditions for all workers, including seniority. No work centre is closed in Barcelona, and no workers will change jobs or workplaces.

OCAT does not collect all activity of operator in autonomous community, but only a minimum part of same-ell fixed business of large accounts inherited from extinct Al-Pi-so this subsidiary hardly billed 14 million of euros in first nine months of year , in front of 4 billion of group.

The corporate reorganization, communicated this Friday to trade unions, would not be related in principle to process that many Catalan companies are carrying out to move its seat vis-a-vis secessionist threat, according to sources of negotiation.
