Pedro Saura, spokesman of Economy of Socialist Group in Committee of Economy of Congress and deputy elected by Murcia will be appointed secretary of state of infrastructures. Thus, Saura, Ph.D. in economics, will be number two of ministry headed by José Luis Abalos. His appointment is expected to materialize this Friday. The recovery of investment in public works and rescue of highways are among its main challenges.
Born on April 26, 1962, in Torre Pacheco, he is married and has two children. He is a PhD in economics and a tenured professor at University of Murcia. He has been a member of fifth and eighth legislature. Saura was Director general of Economy and planning of autonomous community of Murcia, Secretary general of Economy and Finance, advisor of presidency and councillor in town hall of Torre Pacheco. Secretary General of PSRM, on May 27, 2007 led list of PSOE to presidency of region of Murcia. He led opposition to Murcian government in regional assembly of region until his appointment as General director of SEPES. He was currently a member of Murcia in Congress of Deputies, where among or functions, served as a spokesman for finance in commission of Finance and AAPP.
