The file of collective dismissal in central services of Santander group after integration of Banco Popular has been completed with voluntary affiliation of 1,080 volunteers and 20 forced. The trade unions had demanded that number of layoffs be null and void.
Of all those affected, 70% come from Popular, a total of 769 people. According to trade union sources this Tuesday after meeting of Commission of follow-up of dossier, of 331 that have left and belonged to Santander, 218 belong to Santander Spain and 113 to corporate center. By age sections, 20 people were over 62 years old; 378 more than 55; 294 more than 50; 394 are under 50 years old and 14 are more than 55 years old but did not accumulate required antiquity. ERE represents 3.1% of joint workforce of Popular and Santander España, which is 35,000 workers.
The integration of central services also includes relocation of 597 employees in or companies of Santander group and coupling of anor 100 workers in commercial network of both entities. Thus, adding outputs and relocations, integration will be lightened by approximately 25%, staff of central services of popular and Santander Spain, which will begin to move to new popular building, located in Calle Juan Ignacio Luca de Tena de Madrid, from March.
