Telefónica registered a profit of 1.739 billion euros in first six months of year, 8.6% more than in same period of previous year. However, operator reduced a 6.7% turnover, up to 24,334,000,000 euros, as reported to National Securities Market Commission (CNMV).

The group that presides José María Álvarez-Pallete managed to reduce its debt in 637 million in those first six months of year, up to 43,593,000,000 euros, being fifth consecutive quarter that manages to lessen its debt, which falls 10% over a year ago .

The gross operating result (OIBDA) grows 0.4% up to 8.21 billion euros, also weighed by exchange rate effect. Telefónica has reiterated its objectives and dividend announced for 2018.

The client base is located in 357.5 million to June of 2018 (-1% year-on-one) and increases compared to March 2018 in 546.00 accesses, supported in an intense commercial activity focused on clients of high value.

The Spanish subsidiary also registered an EBITDA increase of 3.4% to 2.507 billion, which also grew in Brazil (5.5%), United Kingdom (3.5%) and Germany (2.4%).
