The Council of CaixaBank decides to move the seat of Barcelona to Valencia

CaixaBank has agreed this afternoon to change its head office in Barcelona to Valencia. Surprise in decision, by chosen city, since Madrid was valued and had been given by selected Palma. CaixaBank has taken advantage of decree that this morning has been approved by Government in Council of Ministers to facilitate express change of headquarters only with Council decision, without need to convene shareholders ' meeting. CaixaBank has thus saved obstacle posed by its statutes, which did require shareholders to give ir approval to that transfer in junta, in a process that would have supposed about a month of waiting. The headquarters chosen to house social domicile of CaixaBank is that of old Bank of Valencia, in center of capital.

The Council of entity shall reconvene soon, because decree approved by Government does not enter into force until it is published in Official Gazette of state. This publication should be produced tomorrow, as Luis de Guindos, minister of Economy, has advanced this morning.
