On Monday night, with a brief communiqué, Ministry of Economy announced that Pablo Hernández de Cos, until now responsible for agency's Studies service, was candidate proposed by government as next governor of Bank of Spain. The next day, minister of Economy, Román Escolano, went to Committee of Economics of Congress to explain reasons for that designation. After that, communication to king was missing. And to be official, publication in BOE.
This communication arrives this Thursday, through a decree (Royal Decree 351/2018, of 30 of May) with signature of Mariano Rajoy, president of Government. "In accordance with provisions of article 24.1 of Law 13/1994, of 1 June, of autonomy of Bank of Spain, previous report to Congress of Deputies and on proposal of President of Government, I come in appointing governor of Bank of Spain to Don Pablo Hernández D e Cos, with effect of June 11, 2018 ", appears published in Official Gazette.
The appointment of Hernández de Cosa arrives with anor decree, also signed by Rajoy: termination of Linde. "In accordance with provisions of article 25 of Law 13/1994, of 1 June, of autonomy of Bank of Spain, I come to declare cessation of Don Luis María Linde de Castro as governor of Bank of Spain, by extinction of his mandate , with effect of June 11, 2018, thanking services provided ".
