The League today Awards audiovisual rights in the midst of the ' bubble ' of football

The Professional Football League will award today audiovisual rights of first and Second Division League championship for three seasons from 2019-2020 to 2021-2022. The three main telecommunications operators (Movistar, Orange and Vodafone) and Mediapro aspire to take one or more of eight lots in which auction is divided.

The goal of LFP is to reach 1.3 billion euros for each of three seasons, 300 million more than in previous auction, which would raise 3.9 billion bill for rights of football in three years, an amount that , if achieved, would swell even more what is already known as a football bubble

The operators have already warned that y are not willing to bid for football at any price, as has happened to rights of Champions, which sells Mediapro, and for moment has not been able to resell since both Movistar and Orange have demanded that y reb Aje amount, while Vodafone has withdrawn from bid.

In previous auction organized by entity chaired by Javier Thebes, Mediapro stayed with largest lot, eight First division matches, for 1.9 billion euros, while Movistar was made with second most outstanding, Partidazo, by 750 Million. The clubs remember that football bubble is already being pricked in or countries, starting with English Premier- most powerful in world-that has had to reduce its income by 13% compared to previous bid.

To make investment more digestible, league will allow winners to sublicense rights without prior permission, in order to allow entry of new Internet companies like Amazon, Facebook and Netflix. In addition, it reduces from 10 to 8 lots, seven of m destined to residential public and or to channel of bars and public establishments.

As has happened in England, giants of Internet can be made for first time with some block of Spanish league. It would be one of small packages as y have warned from se platforms that have no financial or technical coverage to market big blocks.

The Premier League sold Sky and BT last February five of seven television rights packages for period 2019-2022, 160 encounters in total, by 4.464 billion pounds (5.014 billion euros), versus 5.14 billion pounds (5.77 billion euros) for 168 duels that were entered in 2015.

Earlier this June, Premier awarded two or 20-match packages that no one had ever wanted at first auction. Amazon gave surprise when bidding for one of those two blocks and, for first time, games of English league will be aired on Internet by one of giants of network. The amount paid by e-commerce firm has not transcended although or 20-party package was acquired by BT Sport for 90 million pounds (100 million euros).

Due to demands of national Market and Competition Commission (CNMC), batch in which a single operator could be left with all pay matches has been eliminated. As is case now, and unlike champions, re will still be an open game in second option, that is, with teams that do not participate in European competitions.
