An Andalusian saga, Los García, triumphed in aters of nineteenth-century Europe, took opera to United States, created Fever by Divos of lyric and revolutionized teaching system of singing. It was a pioneering family in music that, however, fell into oblivion as many prominent Spanish characters. Now a biography rescues lineage of voices formed by Manuel Garcia, for whom Rossini wrote Barber of Seville, and his sons romantic diva Maria Malibran, composer Pauline Viardot and Manuel Patricio, inventor of laryngoscope.

The Garcia. A family for singing, published by Center for Andalusian Studies, is interesting study on Seville saga made by researcher and musical critic Andrés Moreno Menjíbar. "Manuel García, singer, songwriter, entrepreneur and teacher of Sevillian singing, creates a whole school. He is author of some exercises for voice that even today are used by professionals and students of singing in time of solving specific technical questions, "explains Moreno Menjíbar.

This is confirmed by singer Teresa Berganza, one of godmors of this biography: "The Garcia family has always been running through my veins. I raised my voice with Manuel Garcia's exercises. And in recent years I have fought so that Pauline Viardot's house would not be demolished. They were all tremendously Spanish, until I would say that at that moment of ir glory we were put in vogue in Naples, in London or in Paris. Manuel Garcia (1775-1832) was one who took opera for first time to United States. He was son of a Sevillian shoemaker in Arenal district that became Rossini's favorite tenor by playing role of Almaviva in Barber of Seville. García summarized is gallant style, music of Haydn, Italian comic opera and Castizo language of Tonadilla. Undoubtedly, an unrepeatable family.
