Referendum.cat, official website created by Catalan Government to inform consultation for independence, scheduled for next October 1, stopped working yesterday shortly after 19.00. As confirmed to THE COUNTRY to police sources, owner of magistrate's court number 13 of Barcelona, Juan Antonio Ramirez Sunyer, ordered its closure at request of Guardia Civil, investigates referendum illegal. Shortly after, however, Catalan Government advertised “clones” of that same web page hosted on or domains overseas.

After closure, president of Catalan government, Carles Puigdemont, offered two alternative directions on Internet that host copies of that same web. “What are you looking for information on referendum? The vice-president Oriol Junqueras also gave diffusion to one of se sites, with message “witches”.

The public Prosecutor Superior of Catalonia has asked for closure of pages that are driving referendum in complaint against president Puigdemont, and Government in full. The Court Superior of Justice of Catalonia still had not ruled on that measure.

The public ministry, in parallel, ordered police on Tuesday (Civil Guard, Police and Mossos d'esquadra) that would act to intervene in any fact necessary to organise consultation. And that, if necessary, request timely court approval, as is case with case of closure of a web page.

The order of closure of Referendum.cat is gone, however, trial court 13 of Barcelona, which remains open from months ago a research on process of independence and referendum. The cause originated by statements of exjuez and exsenador of Esquerra Republicana Santiago Vidal, in which he revealed alleged illegalities of Catalan Government in process of independence movement. In cause remain charged Vidal; former secretary of Finance Lluís Salvador and lawyer, Carles Viver Pi i Sunyer for crimes of disobedience, trespass, embezzlement, disclosure of secrets, sedition and rebellion.

In a statement issued late yesterday, company's CD Mon has explained that Guardia Civil has presented in its dependencies from Malgrat to 17 hours. The agents have come “with an order of suspension of domain www.referendum.cat, a fact that has caused web to no longer be in operation”.
