"I hope justice is done." At 9.35, Juana Rivas has pronounced this desire at entrance to courtroom of Criminal Court 1 in Granada to face a trial for abduction of minors for which prosecution calls for it five years in prison and six of disqualification for exercise of guard and Custody of ir two minor children, four and twelve years old. In July 2017 when, urged by a judge to give her two children to her far, Italian Francesco Arcuri, to return with m to Italy, Rivas disappeared for a month with m and did not return until almost a month later.
The case history, which opened a debate on parental rights and gender violence, dates back to May 2016 when Rivas arrived in Spain with his children and never returned to Italy, where family lived last three years. By not returning, far of juveniles denounced facts and a judge ordered that children be given to far to return to ir domicile in Italy.More information

This Wednesday session is second attempt to pursue this trial. In first, held on 14 June, Rivas ' lawyer left room after communicating to judge that chief counsel was low and that he, as a second, was unable to defend it properly. Against instructions of judge, who wanted to continue trial, lawyer left courtroom and forced judge to suspend trial.
