The enabling law authorizing government to reform by orders of labour code has been published on Saturday, 16 September in official Journal. It establishes a period of six months from its promulgation "to take by decree any measures falling within domain of law" to reform labour code.

These orders, of which content has been revealed 31 August by government, shall be presented to council of ministers on 22 September and will enter into force after ir signing by head of State.

In wake of law-work of 2016, orders will alter bargaining and collective agreements in companies, to which y attribute an increased position.

Day of action

These include capping of benefits prud labor in cases of unfair dismissal, reduction of appeal periods, merger of representative bodies of staff, possibility of negotiating without unions in small businesses.

A first day of action against new reform of labour law took place on 12 September, at initiative of trade unions CGT, Solidaires and FSU, joined by students ' union and several departmental federations of FO. Anor mobilization is scheduled on 21 September, while France insubordinate Jean-Luc Mélenchon is organizing an event on September 23.
