Puigdemont and five exadvisors take refuge in Brussels

The former president of Generalitat Carles Puigdemont travelled to Brussels from Marseille (France) accompanied by five of his government's advisors, EFE reported. Puigdemont and his executive officers drove from Catalonia to Marseilles and, once in this city, took a flight to capital of Belgium. The five exadvisors who accompany Puigdemont are Meritxell Borràs, from PDeCAT (who occupied governance portfolio); Antoni Aten, ERC (health); Joaquim Forn, del PDeCAT (Interior); Dolors Bassa, ERC (Labour and Social Affairs), and Meritxell Serret, ERC (agriculture, livestock, fisheries and food). The trip has been known only a few hours after state attorney general, José Manuel Maza, has announced a complaint against Puigdemont and all members of Government for crimes of rebellion, sedition and embezzlement.

Puigdemont and five former advisors have moved to Brussels only one day after Secretary of State for asylum and Belgian migration, Theo Francken (of Flemish nationalist Party N-VA), provoked a controversy by opening door to grant of asylum to Former president, an offer that was soon denied by prime minister, Charles Michel.

Lluís Llach, deputy of Junts PEL Yes, considers Puigdemont "exiled". "The very honorable President of exiled Republic is a complaint against" Ñ "[Spain] before European, international and dignity of October 1," he wrote in his Twitter profile.
