The Minister of territory and sustainability of Generalitat, Josep Rull, today chaired an act of celebration of centenary of arrival of railway to city of Sant Cugat del Vallès. It is first public appearance of a former head of Catalan government after entire cabinet of ex-president Carles Puigdemont was ceased by application of article 155 of Constitution. Rull last Friday he met with workers of his department and expressed his willingness to return to counseling tomorrow. "On Monday my will is to come here and not be a counsellor of Generalitat but a minister of new Catalan Republic," he said.Learn More

The presence of Rull was not on agenda that former officials of Department of Presidency aired on Friday. However, Rull has come to Sant Cugat, where he has been applauded by attendees and presented as "Councillor of Generalitat", according to daily Tot Sant Cugat, which means that he does not accept his cessation by central government. Many citizens have taken pictures with him and have expressed ir support. According to local publication, Rull has finished his speech quoting Nelson Mandela: "A winner is a dreamer who has never surrendered." And we, Catalans, were born where we were born and speak language we speak, never, never, we have surrendered in challenge of leaving our children a better country.
Later, Rull has made reference to his attendance to act in his Twitter account: "We commemorate centenary of railway to STC, today FGC." Defending institutions of Catalonia is defending progress of Catalans. Rull has accompanied commentary "We Follow", as he did yesterday morning, when he said that Generalitat had awarded several contracts for roads.
