Iraq's Kurdish Regional administration (IKBY), Supreme Electoral and Referendum Commission, announced suspension of preparations for presidential and parliamentary elections, envisioned in region two weeks later.

In a written statement from Commission, "preparations for elections on November 1, latest developments in region and absence of applicants for any candidates were temporarily suspended," statements were used.

In statement, when preparations will begin, Ikby Parliament will decide. Ikby President Mesut Barzani announced on June 7th that presidential and parliamentary elections will be held on November 1st after a meeting with representatives of some political party.
