A faculty member at University of La Sapienza in Rome did not go to work for two days for his dog, operative. The academician was admitted to court for a fee of two days of approval in accordance with animal protection laws in country. The judge has decided that University of Academy is considered to be officially paid for two-day consent of academic "for serious or familial and personal reasons". The Anti-vivisection League, one of largest animal rights groups in Europe, followed case closely. This decision could be a precedent, as it was stated that it could be counted among "family reasons" to not go to work because of discomfort of animals.
