Who is Faruk Akdogan?

The mayor of Niğde Faruk Akdogan; He was born in 1964 in Niğde. He continued his education with Department of Public administration of Anadolu University after graduating from Gümüşler Elementary School, Imam Hatip Secondary, high school graduation.

Member of Board of Directors of Niğde Young Industrialists and businessmen association between years of 1999-2004, presidency of Niğde Commodity Exchange Assembly in year of 2002-2009, and in 2005, Yavuz Sultan Selim Anatolian High School, presidency of PTA and continued to contribute to education.

Akdogan served as head of Central District of Welfare party between years of 1991-1998 and President of Virtue Party in 1999-2001. In 1994 he was elected from Welfare Party, and in 1999 he was a member of provincial General Assembly of Virtue Party. During his tenure as a 10-year General Assembly, he was involved in diligent efforts at point of investing in Niğde.

In 2001, Akdogan continued his political life, taking part in AK party founding members. In Niğde, AK Party pioneered establishment of AK Party and successfully continued role of AKP founder. In 2002 he was appointed as head of AK party headquarters in Niğde province.

In local elections on 1 December 2008, mayor was nominated to become a candidate. On 29 March 2009 local elections were elected to mayor of Niğde.

Married and far of three children Faruk Akdogan, fluent in Arabic and speaks English.
